Born to Tapel Baenre, an extremely low ranking Daughter to the Matron Mother of the first house in Lendzolafen, Kassar did not have a very bright future. But his mother had other plans when he was only 20 years of age he was given accuses to a garret and one of his aunts bed chambers, she never left that room alive.
Less than 2 years later another one of Kassars aunts, Selas “fell” off one of the stalactites in the House Baenre complex and died. There was a hole in her head that looked oddly like a dagger wound. But nothing could be proven.
Four years after the death of Selas one of Kassar’s elder and higher ranking cousins started making his life difficult and threatened to kill him. Less that 5 days after the threat was had his cousin was found dead in the Bazzaar District he had been branded on one of his forearms, the mark was that of a spider on a dagger.
For a decade or two several more drow were found with that mark either branded or carved into the bodies, at least 10 of the people were known enemies of Kassar. By the time of his fifty-fifth birthday Kassar was killing with impunity and absolutely no remorse.
Few crossed him for fear of being the next person found with the spider on a dagger mark.
When he was about 65 his aunt Flona, who had been in a conflict with his mother for decades, became his next target, on the behest of his mother. After gaining Flona’s trust he sadust her and after sleeping with her she died in her sleep laying next to him, unbeknownst to everyone else she had the mark carved into her tongue.
About ten years later another aunt, Bronson, and two male drow that had recently crossed Kassar were found dead and marked, they were naked in a hot spring apparently the three were having relations when they met there demise. Not long after they were found, a week or two, Kassar was about to kill yet another person, Salkar, but broke of his plan when he was approached by a man with a gemstuded eye patch and a long exotic feather in his hat, Jarlaxle, leader for the Brigendarith. Disillusioned with his treatment as a male he joined the mercenary band and was told to stay in House Baenre remaining there as a hidden agent.
Now even more drow, over the next several years, started dieing and were found with Kassars mark and people started to dought that it was Kassar that was doing the killing, yet they still feared to cross him for he was rumored to have a strong connection to what was dubbed the “Spiderslayer”. Kassars mother however knew beyond a shadow of a dought that the “Spiderslayer” was in fact her son, and she used him to kill yet another of her elder sisters.
Then the drow city went to was with the dwarven stronghold of Mithral Mines. During witch the matron mother of Kassars house, Matron Baenre, was killed and in one move Kassar’s mother lost all hope of becoming the matron mother of House Baenre for Triel, first daughter, was now the matron.
Knowing of Kassars skill and no longer fearing him as a tool of Tapel’s advancement Triel named Kassar and House Baenre’s Master Assassin. Working now with the assistance of Matron Baenre’s “pet mindflare”, and the secret help of the Brigendarith, no one that Triel sent him after stode a chance. He eventually even got back to Salkar, although his body was never found due to the fact Salkar was fed to am Ineffable Horror.
After around 150 years of working for both the Brigendarith, and House Baenre, Kassar was getting tired of being a pawn for both groups. And then it happened Triel came to Kassar with an assignment. There was a human on the surface, a merchant, which had crossed House Baenre. He was to travel to the surface and kill this man.
After completing his job Kassar got to thinking and decided not to return to Lendzolafen, knowing that someday he to would be hunted as a traitor. He quit worshiping Lolth the main deity of the drow and started following the ways of Vhaeraun a deity of drow males, a religion that was forbidden in the city of his birth.
